Travel Insurance

Travelling with a light heart also means knowing you are well protected. At Kelifos, we strongly recommend taking out travel insurance so you can make the most of your trip to Greece, worry-free.

Why take out travel insurance?

The unexpected can happen at any time: a last-minute obstacle, lost luggage, a health concern during the trip. Good insurance means you can face any situation with serenity, knowing you will be supported and compensated.

For trips to Greece, we recommend checking that your insurance covers:

  • Cancellation: reimbursement of costs incurred if you are prevented from travelling before departure (illness, accident, serious family event).
  • Repatriation assistance: coverage for your return in the event of a health problem on the ground.
  • Medical expenses abroad: complementary to your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which does not cover all costs.
  • Luggage: compensation in the event of loss, theft, or damage.
  • Trip interruption: reimbursement of unused services in the event of early return.

Our recommendations

Cancellation insurance

At the time of booking, we offer the option of taking out cancellation insurance through our partner insurer. This covers you in the event of cancellation for a legitimate reason (illness, accident, death of a close relative, jury service, etc.).

The cost of cancellation insurance typically represents between 3% and 5% of the total trip price. A modest investment for complete peace of mind.

Multi-risk insurance

For comprehensive cover, multi-risk insurance combines:

  • Cancellation before departure
  • Repatriation assistance
  • Complementary medical expenses
  • Luggage
  • Civil liability abroad
  • Trip interruption

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

As Greece is part of the European Union, remember to request your European Health Insurance Card from your health insurance provider, at least two weeks before departure. It is free and allows you to benefit from medical care on the same terms as Greek residents. It does not replace travel insurance, but it provides a valuable first level of protection.

A tip before you go

Read the insurance terms of your credit card carefully: some premium cards include travel insurance for services paid with the card. Check the limits, deductibles, and exclusions to determine whether additional cover is needed.

If in doubt, we are here to help. Do not hesitate to ask when you book.
