Imagine a shaded terrace, an iced frappe in hand, your gaze resting on a cove so transparent you can see every pebble on the bottom. Around you, white houses with blue shutters, the scent of wild thyme, and that rare feeling of having found a corner of Greece the world has not yet discovered. Welcome to Kythira, the island of Aphrodite, where Kelifos has composed ten days of pure delight between coastal walks, Byzantine heritage and the Ionian art of living, all at your own pace, hire car included, without ever carrying your luggage.
Between the Ionian Sea and the Aegean, Kythira is an island of delicious contrasts. To the southeast, Avlemonas and its turquoise inlets recall the Cyclades. In the north, wooded hills and silent monasteries evoke the neighbouring Peloponnese. At the heart of the island, cool gorges, waterfalls, restored mills and villages where time has stood still. Each morning, you choose the walk that tempts you: a panoramic loop, a secret beach, a Byzantine chapel perched on a promontory. Each evening, a village taverna and the Greek sweetness of life.

Practical information
You stay in carefully chosen charming hotels, in double rooms with private bathroom and air conditioning. Most have a pool or are steps from the sea. You change address only three times in ten days, keeping a peaceful rhythm. Your luggage travels with you in your hire car.
Breakfasts are included each morning. For lunches and dinners, you are free to choose from the tavernas and addresses we recommend in your route guide. The cuisine of Kythira is generous and flavourful: grilled fish, local cheeses, thyme honey, the island's own olive oil.
This trip is designed to be accessible to all walkers, even occasional ones. Walks average two to three hours, on easy paths, at a pace that leaves time to stop, observe and swim. Options are offered each day to adapt the programme to your wishes.
A hire car is included for the entire trip (pick-up and return at Kythira airport or port). The island's roads are quiet and distances short: the pleasure of driving is part of the journey.

Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the ideal seasons: magnificent light, mild temperatures, peaceful island. In July and August, the climate remains pleasant but the island is a little livelier.

— Kythera is a wonderful island for hiking and swimming. Grand Angle's 9-day self-guided package was perfect: well-balanced over the whole island, with quality accommodation and an ideal choice of hikes. The only downside was that the guides were sometimes imprecise.
